My boyfriend has started to show up unannounced lately. He says he would like to surprise me when I asked. But do you think there could be another reason for this?
I would say it doesn't matter what his reason his. This is the time to set a boundary, and let him know you don't like unannounced visitors. (Remember: you aren't required to give him a reason either) He says it's to 'surprise you', surprise you for what? Weekend getaway? Dinner at the nicest restaurant in town? You didn't mention anything like that, so I will assume that's not why. If you decide to let this slide then you are sending him the message that it's acceptable to violate your boundaries. Worried about him getting mad? So what if he does? He will be showing his true character then. The only reason I can think that he might be doing unannounced visits is to catch you cheating maybe? Again, doesn't matter.

What Does It Mean When a Guy Pops up at Your House Unexpectedly?
It can be a little disconcerting when a guy you're not expecting pops up at your house unexpectedly. But what does it mean when a guy does this?
There are a few possible explanations:
Maybe he's just being friendly and wanted to drop by to say hi. Or, maybe he's interested in you and is trying to make a move.
If you're not interested in the guy, then it's probably best to just politely say hello and send him on his way. But if you are interested in him, then you could use this opportunity to chat and see where things go.
So, next time a guy pops up at your house unexpectedly, don't be too alarmed. Just use your best judgement to decide whether or not you want to engage with him.
Does My Boyfriend Appear Unannounced Mean He is In Love With Me?
When it comes to love, sometimes it's the little things that mean the most.
So, does your boyfriend appearing unannounced mean he's in love with you?
It could mean that he's comfortable enough with you to show up without warning and doesn't feel the need to put on a show.
Alternatively, it could simply be a sign that he's thoughtless and doesn't respect your boundaries.
If your boyfriend regularly appears unannounced, it might be time to have a conversation about it. If he's truly in love with you, he'll be open to hearing your concerns and will want to make sure you're both on the same page.
Is It Rude For My Boyfriend To Appear Unannounced?
It's not rude for your boyfriend to appear unannounced, but it is considerate to let him know in advance if you're expecting company. If you're not expecting company, it's perfectly fine for him to drop by without notice. In fact, it may even be a nice surprise!

He might be extremely insecure, and feel as though he needs to randomly appear at your place if he thinks you might be seeing someone else. He can't carry on doing that though. If there's no actual valid reason for why he's surprising you, you need to put a boundary in place and let him know it's not on.
It could be a sign that he has trust issues and uses this act as a way to gain reassurance from you without blatantly asking you.
More likely than not he thinks your cheating or lying to him. So I assume your not.
If that is true. Be ware guys that check up on you are usually insecure and manipulative. Sometimes controlling.
It may feel like love but it is a red flag for danger.
Or he's a cheater and cheaters always think everyone is like them.
I would like to just pop by my partners house whenever and hangout but I don't know if they would be fine with that plus I know I wouldn't so like don't wanna be a hypocryite. He probably thinks you are okay with it and doensn't see why it's wrong, or he is not very good at thinking about others boundries.
From experience with the few women who did this to me, it means theyre very insecure. Note I said "did". As in, theyre not part of my life anymore
If you dont want him to do so, tell him. After all, he is above the friendzone, so do what feels right.
It means what he says. Men are terrible at giving and taking hints
It means he has no manners and thinks he owns you and can-do crap to you
Maybe he just loves to be with you!
It will happen if you allow it
