Why he tells me to say I love you?

We talk on the phone and whenever he calls in the middle of nowhere just tells me to say I love you, or asks 'did you miss me?' sometimes asks 'do you love me?' whats his intention? does he wants to date me? He is very persistent, even when I ignore his questions he comes back and asks the same questions. I do not understand why? ( we ain't dating, just talk casually once a month)))

I think he really likes u and misses u so he would like if u say yes i miss u too so he tries to ask to see what is in your mind
