Guys, Why would my crush reject me but still tease me, stand near me, and make eye contact sometimes?

So Im afraid of heights, and I was teasing someone else, and he said, "Says the one who's afraid of heights." And it seemed like we were always sitting at a table next to each other's, and we were sometimes standing next to each other during games, and it seemed we made eye contact a lot.

Oh I see he acknowledged you in front of everyone, and like being around you sitting next too and all that…what’s wrong with him.. why aren’t you two dating. He likes you and has done everything but ask you out. This GUY is really mixed up, I think. It sounds like you are boyfriend and girlfriend in practice.
