a lot of females are straight scared of men. Is this misandry?
No. Hating all men, just for being men, would be misandry (aka third/fourth wave feminism). Being afraid of all men would be Androphobia and is probably related to a past trauma or abuse in her life.

I never thought of being afraid of men, just being extremely anxious or nervous, but I always made sure to never get into a situation of one on one if I could help it, unless I trusted him first.
Androphobia that is a good point on the matter, something that changes someone so they could be afraid of it.

+1 yNope, it's not. I'm fearful of dogs overall but don't hate the animal. There have been a couple occasions where I've petted a big dog before (one I've either been socialized before or a friendly type that likes people) but I have to trust it first.
Same thing can be applied with a couple women being afraid of men but not really hating them. Misandry is actually going out of your way of distrusting men; you openly hate them.

+1 yDepends why, some men can be afraid of other men. Usually though, no one is afraid of a entire gender without something really bad triggering it, as if that is the case then it is not misandry it is justified fear from the past becoming the present again.

Of course not the average adult male is a lot stronger than the average adult female. And there are weird men out there who will use that power advantage to assault them. Hell I'm scared of adult men too I would also be done for.

+1 yMaybe if there weren’t legitimate reasons to be scared of men. . On a serious note though, men ARE in fact scary. Sorry. I’ll actually be worried if a woman wasn’t scared of men
Also, what I find interesting is that there are men who have no idea why a woman would be scared of him. Like dude -_-04 Reply- +1 y

@Yuuibtony That’s. . oddly sweet. Thank you 🥺
+1 yI think its pretty normal for women to be scared or uncomfortable around men, especially strangers. Misandry sounds like the wrong word for it. Misandry is more related with hatred of men rather than a fear of them.

"I think its pretty normal for women to be scared or uncomfortable around men"
That's not normal at all! Only girls who grew up without fathers, or strong role models, or have daddy issues, would say that. If a guy said he's constantly uncomfortable around women and would rather not be around them, every girl on the post would be labeling him "an incel." - +1 y
@MCheetah a woman doesn't need to be uncomfortable around all men but they can't be too trusting of every single stranger they meet either. For a guy to say the same thing its different, there's hardly any stories of women doing anything to men they dont know.

"There's hardly any stories of women doing anything to men they don't know."
That's an incredible ignorant and naïve statement, ESPECIALLY after the whole Johnny Depp/Amber Heard BS in the news. You have no idea, young lady. Ironically, it also is a perfect example of "victim blaming."
"Men almost never get raped by women, so if a guy is raped by a woman, he's low priority. Cause it's rare, you know?" - +1 y
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were married, stories of wives or girlfriends doing something like emotionally, physically, or financially abusing their men are what you see the most of. Saying that women have more to fear from strange men than the opposite isn't victim blaming, it's basic biology and statistics. almost all perpetrators of violent and sexual crimes are men, there's more men on men crimes than women on men. Did the victims of these crimes of these crimes deserve it? no. If you're arguing for that small percent of cases, it's not nothing either. You're still more likely to be raped by someone you know than not.
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yOnly if it's an act. a lot of women just CLAIM to be scared of men. But these are generally the same women who would go home with serial killer-rapist if he was hot enough.🤣
There's nothing wrong with a HEALTHY distrust. It keeps you out of trouble.

+1 yIs it misandry? To an extent. I don't know about you folks but, as a guy I get this little societal kick in the dick when all I hear is about how men are "x. y and z" like damn, Idon't even know you but my entire gender is considered evil or some power tripping deviant abuser..
Feels lowkey like misandry is also completely fine but misogyny is a hate crime00 Reply- 671 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic.
+1 yFor the most part, no. It's fear, not hatred towards men. Fear is a negative emotion ad certainly not helpful in terms of dating, but it's hatred that much worse, and can do some serious damage.

+1 yNot sure what "misandry" means, but it is wrong to judge all men by the actions of a few. Kinda in the same vein of thinking ALL black men are thugs just because the 3-4 you have ever interacted with were.

u +1 yMisandry is defined as "hatred, dislike, or mistrust of men", so maybe fear could fall under that in part.
00 Reply Nah, There's women who are afraid of men, but harbor no hatred towards us. Some have a legit reason to be afraid..
00 Reply885 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I think in reality, very few women are actually scared of men.
12 ReplyNah, it's not misandry to simply be scared of men. That fear can lead to misandry quickly though.
00 ReplyWell, misandry is a hatred of men, not a fear, so technically no.

00 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. It is not misandry. More men should be afraid of what women can actually do to them via marriage, children, the courts, and the use of white knights.
