If I *didn't* know that the aforementioned people would return in 24 hours, then I would be heartbroken and mourn their loss. When they did return, I would rejoice that the people I love are safe.

If they never returned, I would mourn the loss of my loved ones, then shoulder on with life as before.

Women are also not net contributors to the tax burden. Most corporations receive tax credits for each female employee every year.
