I seriously doubt that you would not be smart enough to ready know those reasons for yourself. Honestly, I don't think that applies to a 26 year old, who really is an adult, and a 39 year old isn't necessarily a better judge of character than a 26 year old. And how do we know this guy doesn't have a lot going for himself? People are pickier when they are desirable partners and maybe he wants to date a woman who doesn't have kids and still has a lot of years of fertility left?

@Avicenna if he's really about to be 40 then he shouldn't be having kids. He could possibly be dead before they even graduate high-school. My parents were in their 30s when they had me and I resent them greatly for that since they were old parents. If he wanted kids then should have had them in his 20s. The old parent trend needs to go away.
And nah this guy obviously had red flags being that old and not already settled. If it's a 2nd marriage or whatever then it's fine but still people should date and marry in their own age range

Sorry, Apple, but that's hilarious. I had three kids after I turned 39, and anyone could die at any time, but average lifespan for a US male born in 1983 is much higher than 60, so while he could die before then, he probably won't.

@Avicenna oof no offense but I feel extremely sorry for your childern. It's not even about death but my parents didn't care for me the same they did with my other siblings that they had in their 20s. They were actually active parents with them. This is the reason why I'm getting my tubes tied at 29. I will continue to have childern but as a surrogate.

@Avicenna obviously I don't know you but most older parents are shit. Never actually do anything with their kids. My in laws accidently had a baby in their 40s from a failed vasectomy. And I have watched them raise there son while I raised my kids and they really are not giving him a full life even tho they are retired and have all the time in the world to do thing with him they just don't. And it seems to be the same with other older parents I meet
