He is trying to see if you have a crush or any interest in him. It is about the most stupid way to do that... that I have heard in a long time. I am assuming that given the circumstance you told him to go own to your girlfriend and get your "head" out of my face !!!

it's a stupid way of telling you that he finds you attractive and would bang you if given the opportunity (presumably contingent on him being single at the time, but, yeah, some guys aren't especially concerned about cheating on their girlfriend).

It could be his way of complimenting you or testing the waters. Maybe he is saying he'd dump his girlfriend for you or that he'd date you once he's single again. Only he really knows for sure- there are several possibilities.
