Was I wrong for asking for communication?

I’ve been seeing a guy for a month and we’ve been seeing each other almost every day. He very kind to me. He goes on the road a lot and he’s been on the road and I haven’t heard from him so I asked if he can talk to me even for a second bc I like to make sure he’s good. He said ok. I asked him if he meant it, he said “don’t tell me what to do”. I was shocked. I wasn’t about to respond but I responded with “I was asking, not telling. I just said that bc i kinda cared. It was only good intentions from my end. Im disappointed you said that. Hope your day gets better”. He hasn’t responded yet if he will at all. Was I wrong for what I said?

No, you think he would want to let you know being on the road a lot. Frankly that would scare the mess out of me. Not stable... You sure he is the one for you?

No he definitely turned me off and I’m no longer interested. He keeps messaging me wondering why I’m ignoring him. I wonder if I should just tell him why

There is no need. Bow out gracefully so that he can never say anything negative about you. Polite one sentence or one-word answers is what I would do. I like sleeping and often higher moral ground (kind) helps me sleep well. Does that make sense?

You weren’t wrong to ask if he could check in, his response was kinda harsh. What I hope is that this is like an omen for things to come. It’s only been a month, imagine if his personality is to lash out but you just haven’t seen the real him yet.
