I generally wouldn't over-do it. A text/call good morning/good night. Maybe during my lunch break at work or after to let her know I am home safe.

It's always been the other way around with me. She'd call (this happened a hell of a lot with several girlfriends down the years) at 1/2/3 in the morning because she was missing me and then she'd fall asleep while talking to me. Which was sweet but frustrating as I went to work so tired.

Always chuckle when I hear that Lady Antebellum song, 'Need you now'. It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk and I need you now.
