@MikeInHawaii The term "middle-aged" applies to adult ages. Adulthood starts at 18. If you give each cohort about 20 years, then you get the following:
20-40: young
40-60 middle-aged
60-80 old
(80-100 is simply referred to as "old as f*uck. AKA "lucky.")
