This is a real pickle isn't it? I've experienced similar and I'll say this: you probably won't completely get over it. If you are not thinking of "inserting" yourself into his life, you must find a diversion. Whether that be another man or or a mental activity, you just have to apply something. By mental activity I mean something like if you see him and feel something, try to switch to something else in your head that is a favorite thing. Whatever you do, don't substitute candy for his feelings, however! You'll end up gaining weight and ruin any chances you might have had!
