I know never to get involved with bosses but she considered me a best friend and i was attracted to her and it just became hard not to develop a crush. The other day i learnt she has a boyfriend. it sucks, the past few days felt like a gut punch for me and now it's super awkward for me whenever i see her, because i want to avoid her but also be professional. the worst part is she could tell something is up because i suck at hiding my feelings, so now she keeps asking me what's going on, yesterday she approached me three times asking me what's wrong. and i feel like i can't tell her the real reason because otherwise it's an hr nightmare and i'll probably be fired. how can i handle this?

Dude that really sucks, I feel you. Having a crush on your boss is messy enough, finding out she's taken just twists the knife deeper. Some things that may help:
- Distance yourself a bit when you can - spend less one-on-one time together and focus on just doing your job. Out of sight helps get feelings out of mind.
- Remind yourself daily of all the reasons it could never happen. She's your boss, taken, against company policy, etc. Visualize yourself moving on to find someone available.
- When she asks what's wrong, just say work stress or other vague excuse. Don't jeopardize your job over this personal stuff.
- Find other things to occupy your mind - hobbies, friends, dating apps even if just for practice. Keep busy so you aren't dwelling.
- With time and space, the crush feelings will fade. Be patient - unrequited feelings always suck but you'll get through it.
- Don't be too hard on yourself - we've all been there. Promise yourself this is the last time you catch feels for the boss! You got this bro.
Do not listen to the pink. Tell your boss nothing. Take all of that feeling and channel it elsewhere into something that will benefit your life. Strength training, learning a new skill or anything but losing your job is key.
Be honest with her. She’ll appreciate your honesty and be glad you didn’t hit on her once you found out she had a boyfriend.
