Why did a guy at my new job laugh when I said No to me helping him rob a bank?

So he started talking to me small talk and we were talking about school/work (we aren't in school by the way so dont assume we are some silly college kids) and then he asked if i know anyone or if i would be able tp help him rob a bank and i kept saying no. Like the idea is kinda shocking to me i guess. But anyway yeah he laughed pretrt hard. O. o i was a bit embarassed. Why is he laughing
