Why did he look away when I catched him looking?

this new guy was looking at me but when I looked at him he immideatly looked away but he barely looks at me when I’m not looking which I know he doesn’t really find me attractive.

But I wanna know if he actually interested or he thinks I’m awkward because I’m staring at him
