Maybe he's just impressed, most women dont put in the effort to build any muscle, they are just content to be weak and rely on a man's stregth.
And 20 pounds in each hand isn't nothing, bench isn't always about doing your max so guys dont always do ridiculous weight. Sometimes more reps and less weight is good.

In a world where most women can't even pick up there own dogs, my girlfriend was suprised I could lift mine, she was also suprised I could lift her... its refreshing to see a woman bench at least 40 pounds and put an effort into stregth.

But honestly it isn't that heavy and more women need to lift heavier weights.

20 lbs is A Good dumbell to build with 15 is better though and it cost less too which is Great.

Person will build more muscle using the 15 pounder Than the 20 pounder a person can lift 20 pounds but won’t be able to lift a 25 or 30 pounder that’s why it’s best to Start off at 10 lbs then 15 then 20 then 25 then 30 and so on Till everything becomes easy bicep has many thousand of Muscle fibers and Too many muscle fibers to memorize
