Is it normal for my boyfriend to experience mood swings the same exact time I’m PMSing?

Anonymous

We’ve been together for over a year now and I realize that every time I’m starting out my PMS week, my boyfriend seems to experience most of the symptoms as well even though we are apart… I know that girls can “sync up” their cycle but I never knew that guys can experience it as well. He usually tells me that it’s his hormones going wacky but the coincidence is just too weird lol

He gets very moody, irritable, sensitive, bloating, sore nipples, starts craving sweets, everything minus the cramps basically. I ended up having to comfort him each time this happens, while I also have to make sure not to fall apart (thanks hormones). He tends to get mad at me when I appear weepy or sad (bc he is also feeling sad and expects me to act happy) so I often have to act normal and then be sad later when I’m all alone.

I use a period tracking app to keep track of everything so I know when I can start expecting PMS symptoms and it pretty much helps me to “prepare” for his PMS lol

Is this normal? Has this ever happened to any of you guys / your boyfriends?
