A guy I barely know invited me to a party?

I met this guy a while ago. He’s asked to see me (“say hi”) afew times on campus through dm but I haven’t been able to? I barely know him & he just invited me to a party. What does this mean? I kinda want to go but I don’t know if it’s a good idea.
