Yes, and always unwanted. They aren't so much "flirtatious" as they are objectifying and sexualizing. As a girl, you can just tell. I bet you most every girl on this site knows exactly what I am talking about and knows that feeling.

It is quite annoying. I dress conservative because of where I work. Doesn't matter. Having a larger bust that you can't hide no matter what is the cause of most of the stares.

There are some that are purposely trying to flirt. I just politely ignore or laugh it off. I just try not to get into those situations in the first place, but it is near impossible in public.

The worst is at the gym. My goodness when will people learn that it is not a hookup place or club to meet people. It is a damn gym and people go there to work out and then go home. Not hang out and flirt.

There is nothing sexy or more of a turnoff to me all sweaty and gross and having some equally sweaty and gross guy try to hit on me. Yuck.

I can and I do, it’s just that usually I have a terrible, boring time on the date, and the sex is mediocre at best.

Anyways, so if a guy looks at you the wrong way he’s sexually objectifying you (I’m not challenging you on this, you can feel however you want) and you also don’t want to be hit on at the gym, definitely not, you’re just there to work out and then go home, I get it.

Can’t do it at school or college. Women are there to learn and study, and why risk sexual harassment or making someone uncomfortable on campus.

Can’t hit on them at the gym. We’ve covered that one.

Can’t hit on them in a grocery store. They just want to shop and be left alone. Besides, quit checking her out or noticing her large boobs, you’re sexually objectifying her.

Approach her in a coffee shop? Ooof, can’t you see she’s trying to read and wants to be left alone? She just got a vanilla latte and this is her personal time. Stop objectifying her.

At the bar or club? God leave her alone, she just wants to have a drink and relax with her girlfriends and laugh and dance. Quit sexualizing her.

Do you see my point? I’m not trying to be glib or cute. I mean seriously, where is it ever appropriate for men to approach women?

Oh I know. We’re just supposed to “sense” it somehow. Pick up on all the cues—verbal and non-verbal, and read the body language of a person we’ve never met before and who is a perfect stranger to us. But goddamn is she beautiful! Shit, I sexually objectified her! Ugh!

It’s a lose-lose situation. Now I don’t even bother looking at women and speak to them as little as possible. I wouldn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable or objectify them by noticing their heaving cleavage spilling out of their top. So instead I just look at the floor, or the walls, anything but risk making any woman ever uncomfortable again.
