I have this gay male friend who is into men only. He does help me with carrying stuff and will hold the door for me. If he walks by and sees me struggling with something he’ll be a man and help asap. For the most part I feel bad because he’s not into women and has to do these things. Another friend saw me putting something in my car and told me not to touch it and that he’ll put it in for me. He told me he doesn’t believe women should be doing hard work and to get him and any other male when I need help with things like that.
The beauty of chivalry is that no one feels any obligation to do it, they just do it because they want to. It's that human desire for purpose and the desire to serve and convenience others.
It's not so much that "women shouldn't have do hard work" it's more like "women shouldn't have to do hard physical labor when there's a perfectly good gay/straight able-bodied male nearby with the natural upper body strength to make her life easier."
We know women can do it, but for most men, being protectors, providers, and wanting a woman's life to be easier is just what we desire.
Just let us have this!!!

No man "should" be chivalrous toward women. He certainly can if he chooses to, but he has no obligation to. Today's women have lost the right to be treated chivalrously.
