Chivalry: Does he like me or is he just being nice?

So there's this guy in my school and I'm really interested in him. My friends and I always talk about him at lunch about all the cute and nice stuff his done. We all seem to find him cute. But I've been developing more feelings for him. But the bad thing is, is that he's in none of my classes so I find it extremely hard to talk to him. This may seem stupid but every time I make eye contact with him I feel a sort of connection. My friends always say he's super nice to everyone but yesterday he held to door open for me even though it took a few steps to get to the door. It's like as if he waited for me so that he could return the favour (I held the door open for him when he was on crutches). Everytime I pass him in the hallway though, he always seems to stare at me and I'm pretty sure he smiles a bit. He also stands back out of the way when I'm walking past. My friends say he's chivalrous to everyone but I get a gut feeling that there's some connection between us even though we don't talk. Is this all in my head or does he actually seem interested?

I kind of know this situation. I am that kind of generous gentleman type of person. I do these kind of things too. I hold the door for people, even those I don't know, I thank every compliment even the sarcastic ones, I'm always friendly to everyone, even if I'm feeling sad or tired. At the moment, I quite like someone too. I didn't know that there were more chivalrous people around. But, it's strange that our stories are somewhat similar to each other.

When a guy is a nice guy, its hard for him to go out of the way for a specific girl. Try taking a bit of initiative for yourself, maybe ask if he is interested in anyone when you see him and smiling if he suggests it could be you, or says nobody in particular. Unless he is dense he should get that you are interested.

It is still too early to tell. Smile at him and if his smile becomes wider like he can't believe it, then, yes he likes you.

With guys that are nice to everyone it's always hard to know. If you can't approach him in school, you can always text (if you can find his number) or use IM's on the social media platform he frequents. Build up your interactions from there. I'd suggest starting on a Friday after school. You can either hit it off or nothing happens. If you do hit it off. Don't be awkward when you see him again. Say hi and smile or even walk over and talk for a minute
