Scowls, getting mad if I'm out in the open, dirty looks

Eventually they stop out of boredom but is this common?

if im friendly they would immediately think they have a chance with me and would ask me on a date or try to flirt and just plain make me uncomfortable so i like to cut that at the root, unless of course i like the guy and am attracted to him than im friendly, im also friendly to taken men as they dont tend to bother me cause they are taken
