This is longer than I wanted it to be but if someone can offer their perspective I would be so grateful :)
I know the title sounds kinda ridiculous lol. I genuinely can’t tell if this guy was smiling at me in sort of a polite/friendly way to show that he at least wants to be friends or if he was laughing at me/about me to himself.
Background context:
This guy is popular whereas I’m pretty quiet. He’s generally been fairly polite/respectful to me and others but for some reason I get this energy from him that he’s sort of I don't know cocky? He’s popular, attractive, athletic and smart, but at the same time he keeps to himself as well and focuses on school. He seems to pay attention to the things around him as well so maybe it seems that he’s just a little judgmental? Maybe I’m reading too into it even though I don’t even know him but I feel like he’s sort of got like a "holier than thou" complex.
His friend had a crush on me before and he might know about that so this might also be important to remember.
Context:
I was standing there waiting to take attendance as other people were gathering around, I look up and notice him staring at me with a smile. Sort of a soft smile. I look away quickly before he could. We aren’t friends but have a few classes together, talked maybe once. His friend liked me before but it didn’t end well and I’m wondering if he knew and was thinking to himself that I must think top stuff or something to reject a guy who’s so popular/nice. I’m quiet so a lot of people assume I’m stuck up but I mean well, I don’t really like attention and like keeping to myself. I also have some insecurity/inferiority issues due to growing up as one of the few Asian girls around so I might just be overreacting lol.
I have sometimes noticed him watching/looking at me throughout the semester. Before anyone says that he might like me, I really don’t get that vibe from him, we’re too different and he doesn’t seem like he likes girls like me.
