He smiles to himself whenever he looks at me?

Whenever I’m speaking to my friend, laughing and smiling a lot I seeing from the distance him looking over at me. He comes over and just stands there, listening to our conversation. I caught him staring at me, and smiling to himself as he’s looking at me. Whenever he sees me smiling or laughing he always has to mimic me. And when I’m having a conversation with somebody, he doesn’t waste his time and joins in our conversation. And during our conversation in group, his body will be facing me and staring only at me. He always comes near me and finds excuses to talk to me. When I walk past him, from the corner of my eye he stop and stares at me. He sometimes acts nervous when he’s around me, like when he’s talking to someone else but his eyes are on me, he will have his hands shoved into his pocket and play with his hair. He doesn’t act like this with anyone, yes he’s a nice guy but it’s obvious he treats me differently than others. I did a little research about signs but I’m still not sure. I would love to hear your thoughts and maybe some other subtle signs to look out for would be great
