I met him in middle school and we are freshmans in high school now. Things have always been weird from the start bc he always tried to taunt me even when I didn't know him. Eventually we got comfortable with each other by doing this and now the aquaintance has been built off of insults. Its the only thing that feels normal but now its getting tiring for me. he's always starting shit whether it be consciously or unconsciously and I wanna break out of this cycle for the sake of peace. We are gonna be forced to be near each other because of extracurriculars and I dont always wanna be arguing with him. Do you guys have any tips and help me understand his point if view? He thinks I try and act better than him but people even told him that im not like that. Is he demonizing me in his head and misinterpreting my actions?
