Why does someone block all of a sudden?

When he is initiating contact just a week before blocking me and saying he‘s happy to see me and that he missed me? He also suddenly hugged me very long and just held me last time we were together. Was he playing with me the whole time?

It's possible that he was looking for a quick hookup. You didn't give and he got mad.
I cannot think of another reason why he would block you 🤔
