Why do guys have whole conversations about how 'HUGE!!!' stuff is?

I was having a calmer conversation about all the morning sickness his pregnant wife was having, but then when someone overhearing our conversation asked him if her stomach was getting big, it was as if he suddenly turned into an energetic little boy as he exclaimed, she's 'HUGE!!!'. I've never seen him be so expressive and amazed about anything else. I'm pretty sure this happens with men more often than women. Women don't get excited about tangible objects in terms of size so much as they do the design of objects.
