I once received a compliment from a guy in which he asked if I ever had braces. I said yes, and he said enthusiastically "Well, you do have really straight teeth!" I had to laugh, and it was then he revamped it saying, I had a beautiful smile. Seriously, tho... WHY!?

Is this the first time you met this guy? Maybe, he doesn't know how to start off a conversation and said the cheesiest thing. Also its possible that his past gf's liked stupid cheesy things like that. Its hard to say the reasoning because not all guys, a lot do, say the dumbest things, but I've also met girls who say the dumbest things ever. He could just be a dumb guy who you won't have any fun with because he would bore you with those lines all the time, so maybe if you get another guy who does that, and you say something sarcastic like that one girl said, and he can't come back with something of his own, then move on. They're better guys out there for you!

haha that's kind of a more original line than just hearing the lame "wow you have a really beautiful smile", don't you think? but in general, I find that less intelligent and uninteresting people say the mind-dulling things, whether they are guys or girls. I usually shoot back a sarcastic line, and if he rebounds with a similarly sarcastic line, then he's not totally hopeless. :)) cheers!
