Why do guys play dumb?

this guy knows exactly how he's gaslighting me. and he is pretending to play dumb but he's smarter and is doing this cuz he knows it gets under my skin. why do guys do this?

"Guys" don't do this. Assholes of a both the male and female variety do this. The problem isn't he's a guy, the problem is he's a gaslighting asshole. Get rid of him.

In your head he’s only pretending because you’ve convinced yourself that he is. It’s crazy for you to be so put out by his behavior that you’re complaining here about it every week. If you’re really so upset then do something about it rather than seething in silence. He’s not a mind reader.
