The high-pitched voice of a female triggers an inate instinct in males to protect them much in the same way that men will tend to gravitate towards more youthful looking women (lolita fetishes, waxed pubic areas etc.). It's an evolutionary quirk and is based on the notion that the younger the female is the more likelihood of having more and healthier children.
As to the latter, I wouldn't find it too odd given that the whole charade in the first place is nothing more than an attempt to attract-but, that said, I do find "dumb girls" extremely irritating and their vapidness wears thin very quickly.
I know this and you're right. I think its a flirty thing but it p*sses me off. How am I supposed to have a conversation with you if you're still riding a tricycle. I'm just speculating because I myself don't like it but it may be an ego boost, a way to make the guy feel smarter than he really is.
I've observed this too! This girl at my school talks like a baby! Like 'witto' and 'awwie' I'm just like STFU! And she like throws herself at guys (another topic hah), maybe they like her cause she's easy, just to see what she can get out of it.. But seriously guys don't like dumb girls I swear! My guy friends find it so annoying.. haha

I don't know about baby talk, that's just annoying, but the dumb part is easy.
Smart girls will see through a guys crap, while a dumb girl won't.
Ergo, they think the will get laid if they hang around the dumb girl.
If they have gotten laid, or heard about someone who has gotten laid with a girl, then they may put up with the baby talk, but they don't like it.
first of all girls do not like dumb girls, dumb girls p*ss me off and try to avoid them as much as possible, I like having intelligent conversations with people, not the stereotypical blonds that that prance around on television, thinking that the Holocaust is still happening cause some how they started watching a episode on the Nazi's on the history channel, girls like Pairs Hilton are so stupid its a turn off
I never really heard girl speak in a high pitched voice before and I think that's be weird if their voice is high. they just act dumb like read a book upsidedown in order to attract guys attention lol
i hate when girls act like that!
