Would you confront the person or cut them off without giving them closure?

Been seeing a guy for 6 months. He slowly distanced himself, but would still see me. Just not as often. I have discovered he's messaging and seeing another woman.

Should I confront him then end it, or just cut all contact and not say anything?

My friend says the latter because he'll be dumbfounded as to why I suddenly cut contact. He said the gut doesn't deserve an explanation

Let it go as he does not need to know that you know. Less is best in this case.
