Why would a guy stare and then give me a hateful look?

I have played soccer all my life even through University. There's more going on here than you realize even if it is a pick-up Meetup type outdoor or indoor game. How long have you played?
You got me intrigued with your answer. I always play outdoors, I live near a turf soccer field complex so I train there everyday. I’ve played all my life. The guy I mentioned, he is a coach and sometimes he joins the pick up games that take place at the park. I’ve never played with him, I wanted to be nice with him bc he is someone I see everyday and yeah I like him. But it’s confusing to me that he stares and looks at me with hate at times. 🤷🏻♀️ You said there is more going on than I realize, then…what is it?
University scholarship and coached in grad school (girls). 20-30 feet away drop/goalie kick ball right at him no warning at Nads. His back to you goalie throw and hit him in the butt..."oh that's right.. fullback and sweeper are not your forte".
I will tell you there is not much hotter than a "woman" busting your/his skill set chops (action/comments above, kiss, give him a yellow card, and go the hell on...
Looks matter and where I pick-up under lights on turf in the summer period are University guy/girls or highschool talents. Your build, demeanor, etc matter. NEVER reference Coach. .
In my case I don’t think I could bust his skills/game because I’m not that talented. There are times when one has to recognize there is other women that have a superior game, skills and qualities and I guarantee that this guy surrounds himself with women like that. It add to my lack of understanding of his behavior and look of hate.
I don’t harass him, I was at the park first, he is the outsider 🤣 I’m 32 and but even at my age, Im very ignorant about things 🤷🏻♀️
Maybe your social cues are off. How do you know that what you're seeing is a look of hatred?
Good question, I thought about that too, that perhaps I’m misunderstanding his behavior but generally most guys I interact with, don’t act like him (staring when I’m not looking) or look at me with hatred/arrogance.
