Guys: why would a guy stare and turn his back on me?

So there is a guy I don’t know who he is, I see him everyday. I’ve noticed he is always looking at me and checking me out. In a few occasions I’ve greeted him but his reaction was very cold distant. I noticed that he keeps looking at me though but when he sees I notice his presence, he turns his back. I thought maybe he is shy or he probably has a girlfriend, so I tried not looking or talking to him. But then, he continues doing this. So why, why would he do that?

Probably shy and nervous, at least that’s what i’d guess.

i do the same with girls i like. I know it can come off as being arrogant/egositic that you act cold and stuff, but the thing is that i get so nervous that i can't speak and act normal.
