What do men mainly talk about in their friendship groups?
I am a woman but I have (and had) only male friends, as I have a compatible mindset, which is instead incompatible with women, and interests that are usually males-only areas.
Topics can be any but are usually faced with critical thinking and somehow a technical attitude, there is a tendency to talk about "what ifs", to imagine scenarios and possible ideas as if there could be always a project ready to put up something cool. We talk about news we found on internet regarding our interests in common, or about new things we learnt or experimented.
When talking about problems they have with someone, there isn't much empathy or "alliance" but rather a tendency to say something useful that could solve the issue, even if it can come out as a bit judgmental.
In my case, areas of topics are often about: technology (any, really a wide range), work / life plans, politics, science, psychology.
In my early 20s there were more idealistic conversations about how things "should be", like finding better rules for the world.
Surprisingly few other people, I think. I've even hung out at women's parties and I am kind of shocked at how much they talk about everyone. I thought like, "isn't this private? You don't talk about other people this way!"
Guys mostly talk about fun things. Pretty waitress at bar, sports, jobs, establishing their lives, things like that. It's more overarching. It's about "building" if I try to summarize it.
That said, there is one "visual" gossiping case with very young guys. I had so many young guy friends sharing nude pics of their girlfriends. I try to be gentlemanly like, "Don't show me that! I just talked to her two hours ago!" But maybe I want to see a little bit. Sometimes young guys are very eager to show naked pictures of their girlfriends and in sex positions.
Ηahahha my boyfriend's friends also talk about such things. Rarely about girls though
@CoolCatMar1 One thing I discovered to my surprise although I don't know if it's generally true is that there seems to be a clearer hierarchy among groups of women as friends. I almost feel like I'm at some Lord of the Rings council meeting like this girl is clearly "the high elder", and these three girls are also the "elders", and the rest are like peons. Don't talk, peon, the elders are speaking!"
It might just be my limited experience but guys aren't that hierarchical in my experience. It's flatter. There's usually kind of a leader or "alpha" who is like extra suave cool guy who has the biggest sway when he's like, "Hey guys, let's do this!" Then other guys are like, "Yeah, maybe. I'll see if I can do it." But it's flatter mostly compared to women who group up.
@CoolCatMar1 But also much more organized in my experience. Because with us guys, it's like, "Hey guys, our bud has a birthday today 45 mins from now. I meant to message you guys yesterday but I drank too many beers and watched the game and forgot."
But with the girls, it's like they call the council meeting two weeks in advance. Then some peon girl tries to speak like, "What if we do this [...]" Then the elders are like, "Do we have to remind you of our rules? You are a newcomer. You don't decide these things. STFU!" Newcomer: "But I was [...]" Elders: "Overruled! Now what are we going to do about this birthday party for our member?"
Pretty much anything of interest. Work, politics , gaming, women, sports, cars, how to, projects, eating, complaints about gas prices, women problems , cost of living, and making sexual comparisons.

I had a dinner with a friend and his friend. We talked mostly about tech, politics, and the future of Meta. No gossip.
We talk about the women we're in love with and how we can be better boyfriends and husband's. 🤫
Work, sports, politics, news, fishing, cars... The list is long, but gossip is not usually on it.
Not as much or as often as women do.
Cars, football, sports, girls….
