Why doesn’t he complete his sentence?

When I asked him if he thought we would last, he said “we are ok, I think there’s a really good chance that yup…” what does that mean? Why didn’t he complete his sentence?

The fact that he did not finish his sentence after that he stated that "we are ok" and "that there is a really good chance", would indicate that he thinks that there can be a potential for a lasting relationship.

However, one has to be cautious about the time frame. Perhaps that your definition of a lasting relationship is not quite the same as his.

You may think of a period of time of 30+ years while he may just be ready to commit for 1 year. To him, one year is a really long time and mainly if the guy is in the same age group as you are, then he is still ruled by his testosterone. Once you cannot provide or give him what he wants, this long term relationship may well end much sooner than you would want it to.

He will not complete his sentence because he wants to keep it open so that he can always tell that he never did commit for a longer period of time. That is a warning and you better make sure that you 2 are on the same wavelength.
