Why would a guy get mad that you didn't text him back?

I had only been talking to him for a couple weeks but he got mad I didn't text him back why does he care so much I don't get it

Either way he has suspicion- means zero/limited trust.

OR

could be mad and feel like she doesn’t reciprocate his efforts at the relationship ((IF )) this is paired with him being the one to initiate things and texts first a lot.

If it’s a lack of reciprocity, then the girl should consider if she likes him, and/or discussing this situation.

If it’s jealousy/ lack of trust:

mention it to him if the girl has feelings for him and try to grow through it. If no feelings, just end it, so he can properly grow and such.

So, he is angry, because he is beginning to realize you do not like him as much as he would have wanted you to... because if you did you would of text him back. When guys or boys get their feelings hurt, they act angry about it. Real men and boys don't cry or get sad like girls do they, get angry and frustrated.
