Depending on the reason for why he was feeling down. People who are feeling down, sometimes the last thing they want to do is leave their house. It doesn't mean he didn't want to go with you, maybe him feeling down, he just wasn't interested in leaving the house or going anywhere
I don’t know. But he said no so I would just leave it be. I’m sorry about that. I know it probably sucks.
If he wants to go out for lunch he knows you’re interested and you done your part. It really don’t matter why someone says no other then they said no.
Which sucks but I’m sure you can find someone else to spend time with and go to lunch
