Why would a man be rude to a Woman He likes/is attracted to?

He Treats me way colder than anyone Else and sometimes Even ignores me on Purpose. I assumed He just disliked me for some Petty reason.

However, sometimes He is Really nervous around me and Leans into me as if He was flirting with me. I recently asked him if I did anything to upset him and After that He Switched and Started bring More warm and friendly and wanted to Talk with me on the Phone during vacation.

What does this Mean? Any ideas?
