Why would a guy pull me to him in his sleep?

My boyfriend was over for the weekend and he was asleep on my brothers bed for a while and we had to go somewhere so I went in to wake him up and in his sleep, he just grabbed me and pulled me onto him for cuddles even though he was completely asleep

It was super cute and it made me happy but what does it mean?

most likely he wasn't asleep, just pretending to be, that way if you got upset he had an excuse, but I think he generally wanted to cuddle you, go with it

I agree with @weysally on this one that I don't think he was asleep. But it means that he wanted to cuddle and he cares for you and he wanted the connection with you.
