This is just my own opinion but I think there are two possible meanings to this sentence/stereotype. Firstly it could mean that you seem to be xenophobic/racist. On the other hand, it could also mean that you're a snitch that would go out of your way to call immigration and snitch on those with expired work/visit passes.
