What made him not say he has a girlfriend?

I’ve been talking to this guy I found really attractive at my work and I eventually asked if he had a Snapchat. He told me does but he doesn’t really use it, however he was genuinely very sweet with the rejection. I find out later on by someone else that he actually has a girlfriend. I just wonder why he didn’t say he had one when I asked for his snap. I guess I could of asked specifically if he had a girlfriend first.

I've been in the same situation before where I was talking to a guy and I thought things were going great, but then I found out later that he had a girlfriend. It's honestly so frustrating and it makes me feel like I'm not good enough or something.

But I totally get why he didn't say anything about having a girlfriend when you asked for his snap. Sometimes guys just don't know how to handle the situation and they just want to avoid any drama or awkwardness. Plus, it's not always easy for them to just come out and say "hey, I have a girlfriend" because they might be afraid of how the other person will react.

I think it's totally understandable that you didn't ask him if he had a girlfriend first. It's not always something that comes to mind in the moment and it's not like you're supposed to ask that right off the bat. Plus, sometimes guys can be really good at hiding the fact that they're in a relationship, so it's not always obvious.

Yeah.. and it really makes me sad because I’ve never had a boyfriend. And whenever I do find someone they’re always taken or not interested.

1. You didn't ask.
2. You didn't make it clear that you were flirting. (asking for someone's snap doesn't automatically mean you wanna date them).
3. Saying "I have a girlfriend" without being directly asked out, is rude, because it assumes the other person is into you and therefor needed that information.

I ask for snap just to be friends. It doesn't always have to be anything more lol

Yeah I was hoping to at least be friends on snap, because we talk a lot in person, even to this day. But I didn’t want to push it
