Try asking the right questions. Make your guy spill his soul before you.

Everyone has certain topics they're interested in. If you would ask me about nail polishing it would be really hard for me to give you a fruitful answer because I'm not interested in that stuff. But if you would ask me about real estate, construction, business, politics, philosophy, writing, adventuring etc. then I could talk for days.

Find out what his interests are and keep the conversation close to those topics. Perfectly you and him would have some mutual interests.

These would be guys lacking self-confidence and since people in that age group have grown up attached to their devices, they have not learned how to relate and engage with people. That applies to both men and women. I see it a lot. They don't understand hand shakes, proper greetings, eye contact and other people skills.

Nope. Most of the women I’ve seen/met in your situation are saying doing things that make them come across as more trouble than men who respect themselves are willing to put up with. Obviously I don’t know your particular situation, but men are not typically intimidated by women.
