Their type, for what?

It’s the same with women, right?

A woman may be super attracted to a certain type of guy, but then knows that that guy probably wouldn’t make a good father, etc.

And a man may be really attracted to a certain type of women, but doesn’t see them as the same type of woman that they’d view as wife material.

Ideally, one finds a partner that satisfies and fulfills ALL their preferences.

But oftentimes you’ll find what you want split up between different people, and you need to know what your priorities are. (e. g. A woman with really great conflict-resolution skills and is mature and nurturing VERSUS a woman that is fun and wild and incredible in bed. One would make a better wife, one would be more exciting.) Again, ideally one finds someone with everything they want in one person, but that’s really rare.

So at the end of the day, they need to pick what type of woman is the kind of woman they’d want to spend the rest of their life with? And every guy has different preferences and priorities and reasons why.

If you get to know someone the first impression does matter less.

So even when you find that type more attractive from a first look, it may turn out living with some women of these type isn't what you want and than you meet someone who isn't your type but over time you come to realise you want to marry them.

i mean having a type doesn't necessarily mean you can only be with that type of person, it could be traits that you like and then you meet someone that's not the type but you still like, it could just be maybe you THINK you like that or it could just be from experience what's worked for you in the past etc

Because what looks right for us or good on paper is not always actually  right  for us. Dating is about the intangible. How we feel about them and our chemistry is what matters, and that has nothing to do with what we think we want.

It's a generalization of what he is attracted to, but not a mandatory. Attraction can come in different ways, whether it be the rare friends to lovers, mental compatibility, long time interaction, just compatible personality wise, attraction via lust, or they just feel comfortable around each other. Attraction is weird like that, but when it comes to generalized attraction, men are more open about it than women who only tend to be open about it when "window shopping".
