FYI I didn't ask this my friend had asked him who's his old friend. He asked him this in front of me.

That's a shitty question to ask someone. Imagine you were dating a guy and someone walked up and said how's your relationship? You wouldn't want to reply.

But anyway, marriage is hard work and it has ups and downs. That question isn't one that always has an easy answer.

But, finally, you said the guy who asked the question is an old friend. Sometimes between old friends, no answer is the answer.

You are relatively young to be a married woman maybe he thinks it's out of pace, maybe he wants freedom enjoy the young adult life and live the dream, does it look good? Heck no, he would have been at least discrete with this by you know RESPONDING, but that's just my opinion that isn't written on stone. I feel his missing something, its like he's not complete or satisfied in a way not necessarily with you though it may be. Life is in different shades of grey.

I don’t know exactly what it means, but it doesn’t look good. He sounds disengaged, as if the marriage has become a chore for him. If he was enthusiastic, he would show it one way or the other. Have tried talking about it? How does he act then? Does he shy away from confrontation? What do you feel and think yourself?

That’s probably largely true. I do think marriage is a blessing. I’m happy in mine and I have a good wife.

Most guys are not happy in their marriages I would suppose. I can’t blame them. It’s a very risky proposition.

Certainly a prenup would be advisable.

I view marriage as a religious rite. That’s where it started. For non serious practitioners of a religion I’m baffled as to why anyone would want to do it. It can be a wonderful thing but completely awful depending on the circumstances.

The problem seems to be the woman in the marriage most often.

If a guy is gonna have a wife he needs one who is traditional and agreeable in nature. Those are hard to find.

At any rate for anyone considering getting married, be sure to have your finances locked tight. Get a pre nup. Even better yet, have a civil ceremony that does not culminate in a legal marriage you can call yourself husband and wife but not take advantage to any tax credits. You can have z ceremony. Just no wedding license.

Therefore if it goes south the guy won’t get fleeced because it’s not a state recognized marriage.

Guys gotta be extra careful about getting into marriages these days as they are a detriment.
