We like girls who aren't pushovers. Some nice women tend to be overly submissive; they don't even have opinions unless those opinions are okay with you first. A lot of guys like to have their ideas challenged, discussed, and to have a new perspective shined on their behavior, among other things. If a girl is too nice, you risk her agreeing with/sucking up to everything you do, which doesn't help your growth as a guy, and it puts pressure on you to think on her behalf, carry conversations, etc. Be nice, but have opinions and the fortitude not to get pushed around

What you wrote is true. Challenges forces anyone to focus, right?

But for mature guys, it is a bit different. A lot different actually. For those who cannot see beyond the first layer of behaviour, they just leave such girls. Without thinking deeply.

Other mature guys try to give the girl a few chances, mentally. So thst she can show her true self, at least in one of those chances. But then again, a time comes when they also leave such girls.

The kind of guys you traced in the question are thise who are not mature, mentally.

So, as it is universal truth, playing hard to get is cool, but when you stretch it, it just breaks down. Leaving nothing behind but wasted time.

Guys who like to whine and moan about how they can't get a date, will simply continue to whine and moan. You can be nice to them or whatever. It won't change their outlook.
