A guy I'm friends with, who I have fallen for implies he has feelings for me. But one week he can say nice things to me and hug and kiss me. The next week, he'll put me back in a position of just a friend.

That brief synopsis is enough to tell me this guy is neither emotionally or psychologically sound. This is way beyond immaturity. This is the kind of behavior a budding narcissist displays. He is thriving off your person like parasitic fungi on a shaded pine tree.

He gets more joy out of seeing your hopes raised and then crushed than he does the idea of sleeping with you. This is almost sociopath behavior. You are better served moving on and recognizing this as a Blessing in disguise. STAY AWAY from him please.

It's amazing that you've said this , because lately, I have been reading and watching videos about covert narcissists and this guy displays a lot of covert narcisstic behaviors. I do believe you're right..

Do you think it's best to slowly distance myself. Or just cut all ties with him?

He's being really cool with me today. Not friendly at all. And pushing me out again. I have tried to speak to him but says he's not distancing himself. It's clear he is. I'm starting to think he's playing mind games and trying to hurt me intentionally
