Why am I in love with a guy I hated to the core?

The guy was one sided love with me and I hated him to core. Now after several years and of several options, I find him to be remembered. I even forgot my crush but remembers the guy I hated the most.

Have you had the same experience. Why?

This does not sound like love. to me, this sounds like Pride or a rejection that says, "you could not have him". We do tend to soften in separation OR forget hoe horrible a person really is. I don't think it is love though.
