We're SUPPOSED to be the providers, others look to us to put the bread on the table and, if we can't do that, it's a major pain in the ass!! In my case, it's that no one will give me half a chance!! I've been collecting records all my life! I've got over 60,000 of them and know quite a lot about records but, do you think I could get SOME kind of fucking work at a record store, radio station or even a record pressing plant? NO FUCKING WAY!!! Oh, I've worked at a couple record stores, a few days here, a few weeks there, but was never hired full time!! I almost had my own radio show, twice but, circumstances kept that from happening! As far as I know, the closest pressing plant is about a day's drive from here! I've had over 60 jobs in my life! Nearly all were part time, dead end jobs lasting a few weeks and not a FUCKING ONE of them (except those I mentioned) had ANYTHING to do with music or records!! Construction (swimming pools), bike messenger, dish washer, janitor, print shop, store clerk, stocking shelves, etc.. Try spending the bulk of your life "training" for a specific line of work and getting nothing but shit jobs that have NOTHING to do with what you've spent your life hoping and training for!! It's NOT something to be happy about!! I've had the shit end of the stick all my life!! Because I can't GET a fucking job, I can't afford to get married and have kids!!
