It depends on the dude. Does he have a small social life and treasures the thought that he knows who’s in these pictures? Does he want to make peace with himself when you post something negative and he thinks he dodged a bullet? You can’t really know for certain, it’s definitely out of curiosity but you can’t pin that curiosity down to anything specific without more information.

Well we’ve been friends for a few years, I liked him but at the time he didn’t feel the same. We’ve become friends again but he’s married now so I was just wondering I guess.

He is probably just curious and is viewing your story like any other friend would then

I have many female friends and I check out all of their stories or like their pictures all the time without any feeling. if he didn't invite you out, it's hard to know for sure if he likes you or not. It's possible that he's just enjoying social media.
