Okay so I matched with a guy on bumble 2 to 3 weeks back and he was initiating conversations and flirting with me. We decided to exchange Instagram handles and started talking there. After talking constantly for 2 to 3 days he stopped replying to my messages quickly, read my messages after a day or two. So I asked him what’s wrong and he told me that he thinks I am cool and he wants us to friends if that was okay with him. I really like this guy, we have a lot in common and I would like us to be something more than friends, but now that he has said he wants to friends I don’t really know how to proceed. Do I have a chance with this guy or should I just let it go and see where the friendship goes?

It does sound like he doesn't have a romantic interest in you. At least, not at this point. Could that change? Yeah, absolutely it could. You never know why he is not interested right now. Could be that he just got out of a relationship, is busy with life, family, friends, etc.

It may just be bad timing. I do not see any harm in striking up a friendship with someone. You just need to be mentally prepared that the relationship may never go further than friends. If you can accept that, then yes, I would say it is worth having the friendship.

However, I don't get the feeling you are going to be able to do that from the context of the post. I get this feeling that you are not going to be happy unless the friendship turns into a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship at some point.

I only say this because if you were able to just have a friendship and were not worried about it going further, you would not be asking this question. I think you need to ask yourself if you can really just be friends given that he may never want more than that.
