Why do guys view my profile but don't message me on OkCupid lately?

Lately, I see so many people experiencing this problem. I realize that so many guys view my profile but don't message me. Is this just a preference or a common problem?

From a guy's perspective... You're a dude and you message like 50 chicks and you might get 4 responses that are half-hearted and it's basically a 1 sided conversation where I find myself trying to hold up the entire conversation. ... and they'll just stop talking at any time. Do that daily for like 3 days and you'll start to think it's all bullshit. ... and this is me.

In a bar, I pull whatever I want with ease. I can walk up to chicks and fart, and I'll probably get laid. Online though is just pure bullshit. The rating sites like hot or not used to give me a 9.9 rating and I'll barely get like 3 messages in a week. From who? usually some taken chick that just wants to cheat with me. That's a reality for a guy.

So to answer your question, why would they look and just move on? consider that at the point they finally looked at you, they're probably reduced to the point of only using the app just to look and nothing more... the early 2000s are gone and it doesn't really work anymore. I mean it will, but as a guy, you'd have to be willing to greatly lower your standards... nothing but single mothers and fat chicks... and all of them are secret whores.

Real life face to face... is just quicker and easier.

I think you're losing the forest for the trees here. Are you getting enough guys that you find interesting messaging you? That's the metric that really matters. And there will certainly be guys who look at your profile who aren't interested and ones who assume you have 500 guys messaging you every day. You might want to get some feedback on your profile from male friends to make sure you aren't indicating a negative or self-centered persona.

I'm off the dating apps because it takes a lot of my relatively precious time to message with women, the vast majority of whom aren't what I'm looking for anyway (not that they aren't suitable for others).

Well a lot of people on dating apps are primarily looking for superficial things in a person. There is nothing wrong with this but you should expect many people to view your profile with no interaction simply because they are looking for something else superficially that you may not display. You may be the most beautiful person on the app I don't know but people have different preferences and sometimes these are lists of preferences that are simply unachievable for one person so don’t feel bad just keep it pushing!

It's funny I actually read this one woman put on her bio that "looking at someone's profile and not messaging them is rude". 😆

I've said before that women take rejection a lot of times where there is NO actual rejection. Not everyone is going to like you it's just that simple. But that's not actual rejection. Do you have any idea how many women window shop with guys profiles? If you can't handle something as innocuous as this you probably shouldn't do online dating.

It comes down to them not making the move. Is your profile well made? Clear and visible photos of you? Does it really bring out / show the best side of you? Review your profile and maybe there are things you can improve :)

Well you are getting older so expect less and less results. You might also have a profile which is a turn off.
